The quest continues......
Frankly, there is nothing so relaxing after a trundle about the forest, when arriving back, the kettle is filled, and a certain chaps water bowl is topped up.
Depending on the time of day, the strollers will settle down and either check e-mails, or discover whether there’s anything of a sporting nature, which might capture their attention…………there usually is!
The boy Bing is a sporting hound, and therefore ‘up’ for casting a discerning eye over what’s on offer.
We are still wondering why American Football, is called that? After all, ‘footing the ball,’ is only done by the ‘kicker.’ This chap toddles on now and then to try and pop the ball between the posts!
Aussie rules Football, is of great interest to the lad, who rather likes the general ‘scragging’ that goes on, plus the gentlemen or ladies behind the goals, who signify the type of score!
(Just between you and I, I believe he thinks the same people are at both ends, and they dash round the boundary, reaching the goal areas just in time to sign, and then prepare to whiz back to the other end!) Frankly I shall leave him with this illusion as, a little ‘mystery’ is a delightful thing.
As you may have noticed, he's become quite a fan of ‘ah snooker’ and he awaits, with keen anticipation, the possible introduction of chiming snooker balls!
Moto GP, appears to the lad, to be all about how quickly, one can dismount your bike and slide on your bottom, side or front over varying types of surfaces!
Ice Hockey would be even better with the introduction of neutral dogs, these could whiz about and disrupt the chaps and their sticks.
In short, the general opinion of the lad is anything that entails dashing around is tip-top! Subtle games are fine as long as the introduction of honks and such can be introduced in the near future.
Naturally the greatest delight of all to the boy Bing is the absolute love of squeaky balls of varying sizes. The days, months and years trundle by, but the thrill of the spherical object that gives a hearty ‘squeak’ on contact, is the all-time ‘winner’ and the lad continues to perfect his skills.
And so the year begins, and the lads regular visits resume, and, this old poop looks forward to being able to entertain his pal, and be entertained himself by this funny if sometimes rather cheeky chap! We none of us know what lies ahead, but when you’re a ‘Bing’ the day is the thing, and perhaps that’s just about as complicated as he thinks it should be!
'Oi! Any chance of a chap getting a bit of a snack or three and suchlike and so forth?'
