Bingo Day’s!
During our days together, Bingo and I often crash out on a settee and 'chew the fat' so to speak. For example, last week we had Wimbledon 'burbling' away in the background, and it wasn't long before we were pondering ways of 'enlivening' the spectacle.
I was deep in thought when Bing suddenly hurled himself to the floor and fetched his latest 'favourite' - a tennis ball....with a 'squeaker' in it!
Well in short, the boy’s a genius of the first and second water, of course The Lawn Tennis Association should introduce squeakers into the balls they use........just think each bounce and 'thwack!' would be accompanied by a loud 'squeak' pure bliss! PLUS it would cover up the awful grunts and squeals let out by certain female tennis 'stars'.................
It wasnt long before we had decided the introduction of 'ball-dogs' would add tremendously to the fun....get those kids back to school and let us make use of the talents our canine mates have!
Naturally, a certain amount of decorum will be required, we don't want 'em dumping were they shouldn't....the odd cocked-leg or delicate squat will be fine....but 'toilet breaks' could be made during change of ends. (Here Bingo suggested a designated area around and under the umpires chair!)
These matters though are but 'small beer' compared with the added interest that would be gained.
I of course immediately fired of a 20 page letter to the LTA.......as yet........nothing
Bing, frankly lost interest and took his sqeaking pal out into the garden to practice.
Such is life.
Bingo is a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen.
