GAMES DAY!!
There was heavy rain outside, and the old poop was not for venturing out!
Like many a youngster, Bing was bored! I therefore attempted to teach the lad some new games. It must be said he’s a quick learner, and what he sometimes lacks in skill, he more than makes up for with enthusiasm!
We have a large box in which we keep various items of interest to visiting Grandchildren, etc. Bing decided it might be an idea to unpack some of these items to see what they were all about ‘and so forth and such like guv.’
The extra large Lego bricks were of interest, and he waited most patiently, while I built a large tower. On completion he sauntered over and prodded it with his hooter. As it tumbled, he shot off and sat at a distance looking entirely innocent. (7/10)
Next, various musical toys were discovered, and set in motion.
‘M’mmm, they’re mighty noisy aint they guv?’
‘Glad you agree old chap. I must admit, after a few minutes I can easily tire of their chirpy chiming!’ (3/10)
He was mystified by the slinky spring that trickled down the staircase but could not go back by itself.

‘Ah, that’s gravity Bingo.’
‘Well you can tell gravity that I’ll be even more impressed when he can trundle up the stairs as well!’

The lad was quite disconcerted with ‘the racer’ - this would pick up speed across the room, but appeared quite unable to ‘dodge’ anything in its path. Various spectacular crashes ensued, causing the lad much concern, and mystification at its inability to steer and alter direction. (4/10)
Fuzzy felt did not appeal.

The card game ‘Snap’ degenerated into a hopeless ‘scrummage' as the lad called ‘snap!’ every time a new card was turned!
Even more degeneration occurred as I attempted to explain the niceties of ‘Twister.’ Which rapidly descended in to ‘duff the old poop up!’ (8/10)
(Refreshments were had.)
Rummaging in the box continued.
Posting letters into a letterbox, and pushing various shapes into another box - held no interest, whilst my attempt to play a small xylophone was greeted with…
‘Stick to the piano guv.’

Man of course, has invented various toys and games to keep the young entertained, and yet how often do we say, I think they had more fun with the large box it came in’?

As for the boy Bing, large boxes are 'great guv!'….although, they might get a bit of a chewing.
Finally, during a pause the lad said:
‘So aged bloater, how about I spy?’
It was time, I thought, for another cuppa and possibly a Bonio for the lad.
